Lesson Objective:

Students will be able to recognize and identify the letter Gg, both in uppercase and lowercase forms and understand its sound and usage.


Materials Needed:

- Letter Gg flashcards

- Chart paper and markers

- Magnetic letters (optional)

- Worksheets or coloring pages with the letter Gg

- Books featuring words that start with the letter Gg

Lesson Plan:


Lesson 1. Introduction (5 minutes):

- Gather students in a circle and show them a flashcard with the letter Gg.

- Ask students if they know the name and sound of the letter.

- Sing a song or recite a rhyme that includes words starting with the letter Gg to engage their interest.

Lesson 2. Letter Gg Discussion (10 minutes):

- Use the chart paper to write the uppercase and lowercase letters Gg.

- Discuss the appearance, sound, and words that start with the letter Gg. For example, gate, gun, God, gigabyte, guard, goat, green

- Encourage students to come up with examples of words that start with the letter Gg.

- Optionally, use the magnetic letters to demonstrate how to form the letter Gg.


Lesson 3. Hands-on Activities (20 minutes):

- Distribute worksheets or coloring pages with the letter Gg.

- Instruct students to trace or color the letter Gg and any accompanying pictures.

- Encourage them to say the letter and associated words out loud while working.

- Provide assistance and feedback as needed.

Lesson 4. Letter Gg Hunt (10 minutes):

- Hide objects or flashcards around the classroom that start with the letter Gg.

- Ask students to search for the items and bring them back to the group.
